MEDIA PROJECT

| Project Overview

The topic of my video project centers on the profound impact of work-from-home (WFH) policies on daily communication within the modern workplace. As society pivots to embrace this new norm, our homes have transformed into multifaceted spaces that merge living, working, and learning. This metamorphosis has led to a significant reimagining of how we accomplish our daily tasks and maintain professional interactions.

Approaching this topic required a deep dive into both qualitative experiences and quantitative data to grasp the full spectrum of this shift. I started by collecting narratives from individuals who have navigated the transition to remote work. Concurrently, I engaged with studies and surveys from credible sources such as Gartner and Slack’s Future Forum, to ground these stories within a broader context.

Among the challenges I faced was distilling the vast amount of information into a coherent and concise narrative, especially when trying to weave in the complexities of virtual communication and workplace culture. Additionally, ensuring the content remained engaging while being informative required creative thinking regarding visual and narrative structure.

Incorporating feedback from the draft stage was instrumental in refining the project. As a result, I supplemented the video with more research data, supporting the narrative with statistics on current trends in workplace preferences and expectations. To enhance the visual appeal and support the storytelling, I incorporated more still pictures that visually represented the data and personal stories being shared.
